Kevin Khalili, D.C.As clinical director of the Laser Rehab Institute of Santa Barbara, California, I have been practicing preventative sports medicine for more than 20 years. I maintain a strong presence in my local tennis community as both doctor and player, and have close working relationships with team coaches, teaching professionals, and personal trainers. For me, tennis is a passion, as well as my main form of exercise. I am committed to “walking the talk,” living the principles I have written about in my books Super Human Yoga & Pilates and Super Human Tennis.

In 1992 I graduated from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, and in 2002 was one of the first practitioners in the United States to become a Certified Fellow of Chiropractic Biophysics. Chiropractic Biophysics is a science-based system of health that employs the best-researched method available for structural assessment and correction of abnormal spinal posture. I am also a fully certified Myoskeletal Therapist and a certified member of Functional Movement Systems.

In 2004 I became the first doctor in the United States to utilize the Class IV Therapeutic Laser in clinical practice – a revolutionary, scientifically proven, non-invasive pain management tool that utilizes the energy of light.

In 2013 I became one of the first doctors in the world to combine the Class IV Therapeutic Laser with Orthopedic Shockwave Therapy, a breakthrough evidence-based healing technology that makes use of pressurized sound waves. In addition to these therapeutic tools, a crucial part of my scientific program is a strong belief in achieving and maintaining a balanced biochemistry via proper nutrition.

After helping thousands of patients since 1992, I have come to the conclusion that most ailments causing physical pain in the human body are the result of prolonged poor posture, lack of movement, or repetitive, abnormal movement. I am convinced that nearly all neuromusculoskeletal conditions can be totally prevented or successfully treated with early detection via proper analysis.

The following are some examples of painful conditions and repetitive stress injuries that I have treated successfully:

Ankle Pain
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Foot Pain
Hand/Wrist Pain
Herniated Discs
Hip and Knee Pain
Joint Pain
Joint Sprains
Ligament Microtears
Morton’s Neuroma
Muscle Microtears
Muscle Pain
Muscle Spasms
Muscle Strains
Neck and Back Pain
Nerve Pain
Plantar Fasciitis
Rotator Cuff Microtears
Shin Splints
Shoulder Pain
Stress Fractures
Tendon Microtears
Tennis/Golfer Elbow
Trigger Points
I have a simple slogan that captures my philosophy: “My intention is prevention, my belief is relief.”
